 Employment is the Bridge.
Education is the Next Level.

At the UEMD Resource Hub / The Food Project, we hire at-risk youth first—so they can stabilize—then we build the next phase: education, credentials, and creative pathways that last.

Our Goals:

hire YOUTH immediately $250

1) Hire Youth Immediately (Ages 15–21)

$250 sponsors 1 at-risk youth for 15 hours/week.

Right now we have 9 new at-risk youth who need paid hours and structure to get through the bridge period until YouthWorks summer employment begins.

  • 10 youth sponsorship = $2,250 (sponsors all 10 youth at $250 each)

  • Bridge goal through May = $11,250 (your stated coverage target to carry them forward)

Impact:
A paycheck gives youth stability while we help them access food, benefits, documents, therapy, housing navigation, and routine.

Education at the hub $1000

2) Fund Education at the Hub

Goal: $30,000

This allows us to launch the Education Phase by:

  • Hiring an instructor to run an 8-week program

  • Supporting 10 youth working toward their high school diploma

  • Creating scholarships throughout the year for others to access:

    • Diploma pathways

    • Culinary training

    • CNA classes

    • Additional certifications and workforce credentials

Impact:
Education turns a job into a future—credentials, confidence, and real earning power.

Believe in Music Program $5,500

3) Expand Believe in Music as an After-School Bridge

Goal: $5,500 total

Tyree is building momentum—he’s enjoying learning to engineer his own music, with our mentor T.J. teaching him. The creative juices are flowing, and now the studio needs final upgrades to be fully usable for youth programming and recording.

Breakdown:

  • $3,500 — Soundproofing estimate (materials + labor components as quoted)

  • $1,000 — Additional finishing items to complete the space

  • $1,000 — Funding for the Believe in Music afterchool 8 week program for 10 students
    Total: $5,500

Impact:
Believe in Music is a literacy-and-leadership bridge—where reading, writing, and songwriting work together.
