At The Food Project, our educational approach, known as Community-Based Education (CBEdu), is designed to nurture well-rounded student development. We take a holistic approach by creatively addressing student needs and actively engaging in collaborative strategies to promote community-wide growth. Our core philosophy revolves around structured project-based learning opportunities that are closely aligned with the needs of our local community. 

  • Join us for a fun summer camp filled with engaging experiences where learning comes to life. Designed for youth ages 5–14 years old, Summer Camp helps children explore the connection between healthy food, healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy communities.

  • Tuesday-Thursday 4-6pm
    (ages 7-14)

    Join Chef Jaz for an engaging afterschool STEM experience that seamlessly integrates education from the garden to the table. Youth in grades 4th-8th will embark on a journey to explore and understand the connections between healthy communities, bodies, and minds.

    Healthy Cooking
    Discover the joy of preparing quick and nutritious meals. Our hands-on sessions will teach you essential cooking skills for a healthier lifestyle.

    Therapeutic Arts
    Join our weekly mentoring group for ages 5-17, offering a variety of therapeutic activities such as dance, art therapy, journaling, and creating vision boards. Explore and express yourself in a supportive environment.

    Hydroponics & Gardening
    Step into the garden and delve into the world of hydroponics and gardening. Learn about nature, sustainable practices, and how to increase access to fresh, locally grown food. Acquire the knowledge to contribute to a greener, healthier, and happier community.

    SPROUTS ACADEMY is where education meets hands-on experience, fostering a holistic approach to learning.

    8-Session After-School Rap Camp
    $160/student
    Tue & Thu 4-5pm

    This 8-session curriculum is designed to help young aspiring rappers (ages 12-16) learn the foundations of rap music, from creating sounds to recording and performing. Each session builds upon the last, ensuring that students develop confidence, technical skills, and artistry.

    Session 1: Learning & Creating Sounds
    Session 2: Expanding Vocabulary & Versatility
    Session 3: Pronunciation & Delivery Styles
    Session 4: Writing a Hook (The Catchiest Part!)
    Session 5: Writing a Verse (Telling Your Story)
    Session 6: Memorization & Performance Readiness
    Session 7: Studio Recording & Song Structure
    Session 8: Performance & Stage Presence

    By the end of the program, each student will have an original recorded song, performance experience, and a roadmap to continue their rap career. This isn’t just learning rap—it’s artist development.

This immersive experience empowers young leaders to develop practical skills while fostering a passion for the culinary arts.
